Clinical Presentation, Outcome and Therapy in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction. Correlation with Demographic Factors -A RO-STEMI Analysis Report

The study represents an analysis of national RO-STEMI register data base included 10037 ST segment elevation acute myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients (pts.), hospitalized in different cardiology departments in Romania between 01.01.1990-31.12.2006. We evaluated the influence of demographic factors on clinical and therapeutic aspects in pts. with STEMI. In Romania treatment strategies in pts. with STEMI were significantly influenced by age and administration of thrombolytic regimens was limited by hypertension, diabetes mellitus and old myocardial infarction. The outcome and mortality, as well as risk factors for death were similar with literature data. To evaluate the influence of d'emographic factors on clinical and therapeutic aspects in patients (pts.) with ST segment elevation acute myocardial infarction (STEMI).
