Can We Get More Fish or Benefits from Fish and Still Reconcile Fisheries with Conservation?

The world's fishery is undergoing a historic change which can be called the second great fishery revolution, transferring the fishery from a capture methodol-ogy into aquaculture in our effort to "get more fish." It has extended its range into other areas as well, such as recreation fisheries, including angling, viewing (snor-kel and scuba), fish civilization (aquarium ecosystems), and so forth. The benefits from fish can be generally classified into four groups: 1) food supply for demand of protein; 2) economic benefit for revenue; 3) employment and society benefit; and 4) meet the requirements of recreation, civilization and culture, and so forth.
