Discussion on “Validation of Statistical Models for Spatial Point Patterns” by A. Baddeley

It is my pleasure to be a discussant for the presentations by Vicent Martinez and Adrian Baddeley. Vicent has done a lot of statistical work in his research, and I often refer to his papers in order to understand some of the statistical work done by astronomers (e.g. Martinez et al. 1998; Pons-Borderia et al. 1999). Adrian is, of course, well-known in the statistical community for his contributions to the analysis of spatial point patterns. Both of them gave very good overviews of their respective subjects, introducing also innovative ideas and applications.
