A peptide selected from a phage display library selectively recognizes of modified nucleosides containing anticodon domain of yeast tRNA~(Phe)

While it is known that modified nucleosides influence RNA structure,the modified nucleoside determinants of protein discrimination between modified and unmodified RNA have not been elucidated.Affinities of phage display library (RPL) selected peptides for the anticodon domain of yeast tRNA~(Phe)(ASL~(Phe)) having three naturally-occurring modified nucleosides (Cm_32,Gm_34,m~5C_40) were characterized by fluorescence quenching of the peptides' trytophans.
