This paper reports on the insight gained of the human-induced vibration performance of floor systems and stadia from dynamic testing experience. Concrete floor systems with high natural frequency and stiffness provide viable solutions in the case of buildings housing specialist research facilities with stringent vibration criteria. Changed use circumstances in multi-storey structures, such as the introduction of dance or gymnasium facilities, can lead to acceptability criteria for resultant floor vibration being violated.
