This study investigated the mechanical properties and behavior of Laminated Veneer Lumber made by combination of low specific gravity Sengon Wood (Paraserianthes Falcataria) and high specific gravity Rubber Wood. It was found that the tensile strength perpendicular to the grain, compression strength in tangential and radial direction, and fracture toughness was low. The dowel bearing strength parallel and perpendicular to the grain was slightly decreased due to the increase of the dowel diameter. Plug shear or combination of half plug shear with splitting failure may be occurred at the connections with the end distance of five or seven time's diameter. The ductility factor of the single bolt connection significantly influenced by the end distance. The scarf joint of three veneers simultaneously and low specific gravity of veneer was the weakness source in the small clear specimen or connection.
