During the last several years, one of the major challenges faced by pig producers and researchers has been to find ways to improve the efficiency of pork production. Therefore, various technological innovations have been evaluated in an attempt to improve productivity, including reproduction, health, management practices, genetic selection, and the use of nutrient partitioning agents, Ractopamine (RAC) is a safe and approved ingredient for pig diets that improves carcass lean meat accretion, enhanceslive performance and provides benefits to the entire pork production chain. Studies conducted by CROME et al. (1996) have proven the effectiveness of RAC in increasing carcass lean tissue deposition, without affecting pork quality. The goal of this study was to evaluate the effects of different RAC levels on carcass composition and pork quality.
