EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SURVEY OF PRRSV INFECTION IN 200 FARROW-TO-FINISH PIG HERDS IN ITALY

摘要

PRRSV is an economically significant pathogen of the pig industry, the world over. Published data from the USA have documented annual losses averaging US239 dollar per sow due to increased mortality rate, reduced growth and the cost of medication andvaccination. Data from Germany and The Netherlands show that during an epidemic of PRRS the overall losses were about 300 Euro per productive sow.
