Four rye chromosome-specific and two rye genome-specific RAPD markers were identified four detection of introgression in wheat. Among 260 decamer primers used, four primers, namely, OPC01, OPF07, OPF11 and OPH09 amplified rye chromosome-specific DNA fragments. OPC01 marker(1207bp) was assigned in rye chromosome 7, while OPF07 marker (1987bp) could be used in the selection of lines having rye chromosome 1. OPF11 and OPH09 markers(1225bp and 1354bp, respectively) were assigned in rye chromosome 6. Two rye genome-specific markers (OPC10 having 1012bp and OPH20 with 1494bp) amplified in all of the examined materials which contained rye chromatin, such as rye,hexaploid triticale, wheat-rye addition lines and wheat varieties with 1BL/1RS translocation. FISH patterns using probes of each marker should be useful to select or track all wheat-rye translocated lines derived from the whole arms of rye chromosomes.
