摘要

This study contributes to the assessment of thixoformability of the aluminium wrought alloy 7075. Backward extrusion experiments in the semi-solid state were carried out. The optimal semi- solid forming range was calculated with Thermo-Calc ~C and compared with results of the backward extrusion experiments and of differential thermal analysis. Microstructural investigations on grain size, shape factor and contiguity, influence of ram speed and isothermal holding time were carried out. Experimental results were compared with results from FE-simulations.
