摘要

Natural convection of water-fine particle suspension in a rectangular vessel was studied. Local heat transfer coefficients were measured under various temperature differences between the opposing vertical walls. Several layers of natural convection were formed in the vessel during the sedimentation of particles. Effects of the movement of the convection layers on the local heat transfer coefficients were clarified. It was shown that an average Nusselt number in the rectangular vessel with two layers was lower than a Nusselt number averaged over two rectangular vessels which had the same configuration as each layer.
