EXPERIENCE OF TEN YEARS USING GOLD ACUPUNCTURE (GA) IN DOGS WITH DEGENERATIVE JOINT DISEASE IN GERMANY

摘要

Gold acupuncture (GA) is a variation of acupuncture with needles. Instead of needles, gold beads are implanted in well-defined acupuncture points. GA is almost exclusively used in dogs with degenerative joint diseases and dogs which show lameness witha sudden or a more chronic onset. For the last ten years GA has developed into an established method for treatment of osteoarthritic patients. Whereas in the beginning it was only applied by vets with a background in acupuncture, today this method has become independent and is used as gold implantation even by vets without knowledge of TCM.
