In this research, the geometrical description and mechanical modeling of woven composites are addressed. For the first part, a novel geometrical modeling method is established basing on the mechanics of fiber yarns. An iterative algorithm is employed to find the equilibrium configuration of yarns. To get the global and local response of woven composites, homogenization method is used. Numerical examples will be given to show the effectiveness of the whole modeling system. The goal of this research is to establish a system of automatic modeling tool to aid the design and optimization of woven composites.
