There are numerous repair options for the cranial cruciate deficient canine stifle. Lateral fabellar suture (LFS) techniques have been used with good clinical success and relatively high owner satisfaction ratings for many years. The tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) was described by Slocum in 1993 and has since become the preferred repair technique by many veterinary surgeons. Recently the tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA) described by Tepic was introduced as yet another option for cranialtibial thrust neutralization in the cruciate deficient stifle.
