Tetragonal tungsten bronze (TTB) structured K_3Li_(2-x)Nb_(5+x)O_(15+2x) (KLN) single crystals belong to space group P4bm and point group 4mm. These niobate compounds are of great interest due to their potential application in second-harmonic generation (SHG). These crystals can be used in the wavelength range from 790 to 920nm at room temperature by changing the Li content. As compared with the established KNbO_3 crystal, they have the advantages of having high optical-damage threshold, good mechanical stability and low optical loss [1,2].
