REMOTE SENSING GRADUATE RESEARCH IN U.S. AND CANADIAN FORESTRY SCHOOLS: AN UPDATED SURVEY (1998)

A survey of U.S. and Canadian forestry schools was conducted in 1998 to determine the topics and characteristics of the remote sensing research programs. Approximately 70 percent of the U.S. forestry schools completed survey forms that contained information about natural resource and forestry topics of masters and Ph.D. level graduate students, funding sources, types of sensors used and image processing software available. Some comparisons were made between a previous survey (1988) and the current survey.
