Nippon Steel Engineering Corporation has developed and commercialized a Rotary HearthFurnace (RHF) for recycling the various dust and sludge from Blast Furnace and ElectricFurnace and delivered the first process in 2001. There are in total eight delivery results todate in the world.RHF performs the reduction of iron oxide and the zinc removal under high temperature andreducing atmosphere as raw materials with these dust and sludge. As a result, it is possibleto recycle as reduced iron and zinc.In addition, as our characteristic, the facility includes a waste heat recovery equipment forenergy saving, eco-friendly equipment is configured.This paper introduces the concept of various dust and sludge from Blast Furnace andElectric Furnace and the characteristic of our original facilities with the energy savingfunction.
