Background/Objectives. A chlorinated solvent plume has been delineated at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The plume contains the chlorinated aliphatic contaminants trichloroethylene (TCE) and the degradation products cis-1,2-dichloroethene (cDCE) and vinyl chloride (VC). The plume is migrating within a discrete set of fractures within a thin limestone bed, located 100 ft and greater below grade. Low concentrations of the CAHs have been detected in a tributary spring, 1,700 feet downgradient from the suspected source of a former parts cleaning operation. The data presented herein was collected as part of a bioremediation pilot study conducted at the site to validate this bioremediation approach, as required by the Record of Decision.
