The presence of arsenic in groundwater has become a serious worldwide problem due to the high toxicological issues.Electroadsorption processes using activated carbon as electrode materials have become an interesting alternative for the removal of arsenate ions from groundwater.However,many questions about which activated carbon properties have impact during arsenate electroadsorption have arisen.The objective of this work was to study the influence of the chemical surface of granular activated carbon of bituminous origin on arsenate electroadsorption.
