In recent years, numerous methods for preparing isolated graphene without defects were developed. One such method is the exfoliation of graphite oxide (GO) via sonication [1]. However, this process results in the oxidation of graphite layers; moreover, the chemical restoration of graphene's original characteristics is difficult. The exfoliation of graphite intercalation compounds (GICs) via desalination with alkyl halide solvents is considered to be a possible solution to this problem. In this study, Na-tetrahydrofuran-GICs (Na-THF-GICs) were exfoliated though this desalination-without-sonication process. The properties of obtained few-layered graphene present no defect, as compared to few-layered graphene exfoliated from GO.
