The performance of the turbine-based combined cycle propulsion system along a specific flying trajectory and the mode transition from turbojet mode to ramjet mode was investigated in this paper. The turbojet engine was built on the component level and the ramjet engine was evaluated through stream thrust function. After the analysis of the mode transition, the results indicated that the program developed in this research can be used to calculate the performance of the turbine-based combined cycle engine and the mode transition process. The mode transition module can be used to design the mode transition sequence based on the smooth mass flow rate and both smooth mass flow rate and smooth thrust. The smooth mode transition from turbojet mode to ramjet mode can be achieved through the controlling schedule designed by the program developed in this research.
