A Web-based Integrated Knowledge Mining Aid System Using Term-oriented Natural Language Processing

In this paper, we propose a web-based integrated knowledge mining aid system in which information extraction and intelligent database access are combined using term-oriented natural languages tools. Our domain is molecular biology and our aim is to provide efficient access to heterogeneous biological and genomic databases, enabling users to use a wide range of textual and non textual resources effortlessly. Our system includes, 1) automatic term recognition, 2) domain oriented automatic term clustering, 3) similarity-based document retrieval, 4) intelligent database/item selection, 5) simultaneous multiple web-sites access and server side HTML conversion using server side web access technique via Common Gateway Interface (CGI). Through further description to the specification and the implementation technique of the system, we will demonstrate how the system can accelerate knowledge acquisition on the Web even for novice users of the field.
