摘要

Longitudinal data on changes in UK management and career development (MCD) since 1987 are presented, and an open systems model of MCD in the UK discussed. The determinants of the amount of incompany management training, its impact on the organization, and the degree to which it has achieved its objectives are identified as well as the determinants of the priority given to MCD. Evidence is also presented of the changing roles and responsibilities in managerial career development.
