In the present paper, a new dressing equipment applying ultrasonic vibration lap for diamond grinding wheels has been developed. First, the dressing and grinding characteristics of this equipment with a vitreous-bond diamond wheel are described. Next, the help of back propagation method predicts dressing interval based on patterns of grinding force. As a result, it is confirmed that this equipment is useful for in-process dressing.
