A fixed pressure guide type micro indentation device for making rainbow pattern on metal surface

This paper deals with a new micro indentation device for making micro pits for rainbow pattern on metal surface, which can be applied, for example, to a die or mold for injection molded products with high additional value. The new device is provided with a fixed pressure guide, in which a diamond indentor is installed, for making pits of predetermined depth even if workpiece surface is inclined. Experiments showed that the device has expected performance, leading to yielding high quality of rainbow pattern on inclined or slant metal surface.
