The necessity of atom-scale characterization is emphasized in order to understand physics of superplasticity in ordered alloys. The three cases in which atom-scale characterization of ordered alloys have been successfully made, are described in the present paper: (ⅰ) atom-scale structure of a boron-doped Ni_4Mo ordered alloy, (ⅱ) ordered phases in Ni_3Mo-based alloy containing 5at%Al, and (ⅲ) the feasibility of individual atom images of both two elements in the FIM of Ni_4Mo ordered phase.
