Fluidized bed process for integration of casting heat treating, thermal removal of casting mold and core sand, and thermal sand reclamation

Through the course of supplying roller hearth heat treatment facilities for T-6 treatment of aluminum automotive castings, CEC developed important new technology for combining several casting processing operations. These operations include: solution heat treatment Thermal core and mold sand removal Thermal sand reclamation This patented technology has been refined through the design of more than 20 systems provided for processing automotive cored castings. Worldwide, annual capacity exists to process more than 11 million aluminum cylinder head and engine block castings along with annual capacity to thermally reclaim more than 1,000,000 tons of sand. Originally applied to semi-permanent mold castings, the process is also applied to the growing use of cored castings made in cold-box molds.
