Shimizu LNG Co. Ltd., which was established as a joint company by Shizuoka Gas Co. Ltd. and Tonen Corp., constructed a LNG terminal at Shimizu-city and started supplying city-gas. At an initial stage of operation a demand of LNG is not so large, but with the advance of the conversion of city-gas calorie, the demand will increase every year. There were the following technical subjects to be solved at design state: 1) Concentration of LNG due to low demand at the initial stage of operation, and 2) Too much turn-down solved by considering countermeasures, the reliquefaction facility is one of them.
