Secondary calcite and opal deposited within the volcanic rocks at Yucca Mountain are indicators of past water movement through the rock mass.A simple conceptual model relating the abundance of secondary minerals to long-term percolation flux indicates that the percolation flux is not correlated with infiltration below the Paintbrush Group nonwelded units (PTn).
