In order to investigate pressure waves in tunnel and micro-pressure waves radiated outside, due to high-speed train-tunnel entry, a reduced-scale test /CFD joint approach is proposed. Firstly, a 1/70 th rig has been developed and evaluated.Relatively high train Mach numbers are obtained with limited model speeds and heavy gas mixtures. Tests are performed with an axi-symmetrical train-tunnel configuration. Secondly, a compressible Euler software is evaluated by computing some of the testsmade with the rig. Experimental and numerical results obtained on amplitude and gradient of primary compression waves are consistent each other. Successful comparisons with Japanese data are issued.
