The structure, magnetization and magnetostriction of (Dy_(0.65)Tb_(0.25)Pr_(0.10) (Fe_(1-x)Al_x)_2 alloys (x ≤ 0.3) have been investigated using X-ray diffraction, eletron probe micro-analysis (EPMA), vibrating sample magnetometer and standard strain gauge techniques. X-ray diffraction analysis confirms that (Dy_(0.65)Tb_(0.25)Pr_(0.1))(Fe_(1-x)Al_x)_2 alloys contain a small amount of second phase (Dy, Tb,Pr)(Fe, Al)_3 when x < 0.15 and it disappears when x ≥ 0.15.The calculatio of diffraction intensity and EPMA indicate that the ratio of (Dy + Tb + Pr) to Fe for Laves phase (Dy, Tb, Pr) Fe_2 in (Dy_(0.65)Tb_(0.25)Pr_(0.1)) Fe_2 alloy is near 1: 1. 85. The magnetization of (Dy_(0.65)Tb_(0.25)Pr_(0.1)) (Fe_(1-x)Al_X)_2 alloys decreases with increasing x when x ≤ 0.05,and increases when x > 0.05.The magnetostriction of these alloys steadily decreases with increasing Al content.
