摘要

The aim of this paper is to selectively test some basic landscape parameters of public open air spaces, regarding their possibly-combined contribution to acoustic and thermal environmental aspects. Experiments were carried out in three public open air spaces in Athens. Six landscape parameters were selected for the analysis; namely, materials and texture of boundary surfaces, source-receiver distance, intervening wall barriers, envelope of greenery, ground slopes (geo-morphology) and still or flowing water. Measurements were carried out of ambient noise levels, air temperature, and temperature of surrounding surfaces. For some of the landscape parameters, results demonstrated that there may be combined benefit regarding freedom-from-noise and thermal performance.
