There is a great emphasis on improving the economics of LNG plants to ensure the feasibility of future projects. The PRICO~TM NG process can offer capital cost reduction for the liquefaction train while having energy efficiency comaprable to competing cycles. The first baseload application of the PRICO~TM process was in the LNG development for Sonatrach at Skikda, Algeria, where three units were built in early 1980's. This paper describes the process, operating experience and reliability of the major equipment at these units.
