A computer software package called PCRTOOL is written in Turbo C/ M ASM and DOS based. It is suitable for IBM compatible computer(640k RAM , DOS 3. 30 or later; harddisk ;VGA graphics adapter). Providing a dialog-based natural language interface. Two language version can be obtained (Chinese or English). The PCR TOOL can be used to design oligonucleotide primers for neucleotid acid sequences in Genebank files or ASCII files , and evaluated any user-defined sequence as a primer upon length , span and Tm value. Other PCR related Analysis can also be accomplished by PCRTOOL, including a) the homology analysis between two nucleotide acid sequences , b)the restriction sites location in any given sequence, c)the translation of given nucleotid sequences to amino acid sequences, instantaneously figure out the percentage of every kind of amino acid and essential/non-essential anino acid. All the analysis results can be displayed on screen, saved as a file or printed.
