摘要

The Shading Coefficient(SC) is widely used in the construction industry to determine energy transfers due to Solar Heat Gain through glazing materials and shading attachments in fenestration. Problems arise when comparing the actual performance of such materials with the calculated values based on rated SC's. A testing method is developed and implemented to demonstrate actual on-site performance of these types of materials with regard to total solar heat gain. Results indicate that performance expected based on rated SC's may not correlate with actual performance.
