Convergence in the industry

摘要

This paper traces the evolution of the telecommunications and broadcast industries from their monopolistic positions to the rapid convergence of these sectors in a liberalised regulatory environment. The effect of the enormous changes in technology, particularly that in digital electronics, is central to the process. A future model of the industry is outlined.
