Recently The electronic weighing apparatus has been applied more and more in data processing and process control. The traveling overhead crane has been widely applied in metallurgy and freight transportation. Now, the measure for the load of Traveling overhead crane mostly adopts mechanical load safety device or simply electronic weighing device. But in its actual application, there must be some problems about precision, anti-interference and reliability. So we design and develop “Measure and Control System for the Load of Traveling Overhead Crane Based on CAN Bus”. This system has the following advantages: system are stable, dates of measure and recording are accurate and anti-lose-easily etc. The system has been used in the Metallurgical Enterprise and has been found to have a good effect. The system composition and main function of the measure and control system for load of the Traveling overhead crane based on CAN (Controller Area Networks) bus was introduced in this paper. The hardware designs and circuit designs of CAN bus system were presented.
