Effect of Sacha Inchi on human brain functions and brainwaves alteration

The objective of this study was to study the relation of Sacha Inchi containing Omega-3 as ingredient and the brain development of cognitive function by using the brainwave as indicator. Ten volunteers were participated in this study. This study used 14-channels Neuroheadset Mobile electroencephalogram (EEG). This device could display in many channels and works as wireless neuroheadset. All participants got Sacha Inchi oil containing Omega-3 for 6 capsules per day that they need to eat 2 capsules per meal: after having breakfast, lunch and dinner. In each capsule of Sacha Inchi oil, it consisted 638.34 grams of Omega-3, so all participants received 4 grams of omega-3 per day. All participants were asked to do the test to measure the cognitive functional development by Go/NoGo Test along with a brainwave changing measurement in both before and after having Sacha Inchi oil for 30 days. It was found that while performing the cognitive functional test, Theta, Alpha, and Beta brainwaves were increasing with significantly difference at 0.05 level comparing between before and after having the Sacha Inchi oil. This result represents the improvement part of the brain - inferior frontal cortex. The result of the cognitive functional test showed the increase of brain activation related to the improvement of cognitive function in part of attention and memory.
