The step voltage is a function of the form of the gradient area which is a part of the grounding potential which can be bridged by a person taking a step over 1 m. The current path runs via the human body from one foot the other. In some cases, step voltages outside a structure can be a life hazard even though the LPS was designed according to the standard. In the normal building, one ring earth electrode is used, but for public building area it is better to use 4 ring earth electrodes to reduce danger risk due to step voltage. The risk happened by a large number of people frequently congregate near the structure where grounding system are present in the immediate vicinity such as temples, floodlight masts, billboard, arena. This paper will show the design implementation of additional ring electrodes to control the step potential into safety level for persons.
