Harmonizing the Scenario Generation Process, Tools and Standards for Flight Simulators

With the increasing usage of flight simulators in flight training, the development of scenarios for these devices is becoming an important aspect for the effective utilization of these simulators. However, the development of such scenarios is often not a streamlined activity. This paper discusses how the process, tools and standards involved in the generation of scenarios can be harmonized, even optimized, so that scenarios can be developed more effectively and more efficiently. This in turn empowers training organizations to make better use of their expensive training assets, and forego investments which do not improve the training quality they aim to deliver.
