A novel PTFE hollow fiber membrane is developed for oil contaminated wastewater treatment. Ithas a special three dimensional fibril microstructure made of PTFE with high porosity, and itfeatures excellent mechanical strength and chemical resistance. This novel PTFE membranemodule is expected to have high performance for treating oil-containing water such as producedwater and oil refinery wastewater. It has been already evaluated in the actual operation sites andhas been installed in several commercial plants. Excellent results are obtained.
