Internet Relay Chat as a Tool in the Development of ESL Learners' Language Competence

摘要

Nowadays computer-aided language learning is drawing more and more attention of researching in China.It is appealing to both language teachers and learners due to its convenience.However, many Chinese researchers focus on introduction of multimedia facilities in classrooms and pay little attention to the interaction aspect of Internet communication. This study aims to explore the extent to which internet relay chatting affect ESL learner's language skills, and improve their grammatical competence in particular.
