This paper presents a nuclear power project in Finland. In many ways, it is unique also internationally: new power company, greenfield project and simultaneously three license applicants.In Finland, currently - as of February 2010 - a licensing process continues for Finland's sixth nuclear power unit. Three companies - Fennovoima, Fortum and TVO - have applied for a political approval for new nuclear power. This decision-in-principle process is expected to reach its final phase in autumn 2010, when Finnish Parliament will have the final say in the political approval.
