The adsorption of two representative endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) has been investigated at ug.L~(-1) and ng.L~(-1) level in ultra pure and natural waters. The aim of the study was to assess the ability of single solute (Freundlich, Langmuir and Langmuir-Freundlich) and competition adsorption models (IAST-EBC), fitted solely to high concentration experimental data, to predict the adsorbabilities of the target compounds at low concentration level. Results have shown that the IAST combined with Langmuir-Freundlich model for the EDC and Langmuir model for the EBC allows the extrapolation of the adsorption phenomenon of the EDC with acceptable error.
