In the present work, the influence of the time of mechanical milling process on two different types of industrial petroleum cokes has been evaluated. These carbonaceous derivatives have been put under a process of mechanical milling using a high energy planetary mill. 400 rpm milling speed was used and several times were evaluated (1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 and 48 h). All the milling process was carried out under an oxygen atmosphere. From the milling process, 14 different materials were obtained. The milled materials were compacted by cold isostatic pressing (CIP). Pressed materials were physically (green density) and mechanically characterized.
