Traditionally a south facing pitched roof is considered as the best location for solar energy collector installation in the northern hemisphere in order to obtain the maximum output. But in real situations, many buildings may not have this optimal roof orientation which often discourages the otherwise motivated individuals to discard their interest in owning a solar energy device. In this context, actual performance data from identical solar collectors installed at different orientations is of importance to arrive at a logical and informed decision on system selection.
