Scientometric study on international inventors’ collaboration networks in the technological field of digital information transmission is investigated at the level of individuals by using bibliographic data of all patent documents published in Derwent Innovation Index (DII) retrieved from Web of Knowledge (WOK) in 2006.Combined analysis of social network analysis (SNA),co-occurrence analysis and cluster analysis is explored to reveal: (1) The higher the NrmNetwork Centralization of a network is, the lower the average output of the inventors is in the inventors’ collaboration network in the technological field of digital information transmission (DIT); (2) Generally, the less components there are in a network, the higher average output of the inventors in the network is; (3) Generally, the bigger scale of a connecting network is, the higher average output of the inventors is in DIT; (4) The shorter the average distance of a network is, the higher the average output of the inventors in the network is; (5) It is concluded that the suitable density of the networks is good for the inventors to improve their output.
