The analysis of three-dimensional distribution of eddy currents in a hollow rotor of an electromechanical converter is presented. The finite element mathematical model of the electromechanical converter was used, which takes into account all the features of the hollow rotor geometry, the influence of the edge effect, and also the current displacement effect. Results of the numerical studies, the regularities of the spatial distribution of the current density in the hollow rotor in the form of patterns and dependencies are obtained. The finite element model considered can be used in the analysis of eddy currents in electromechanical converters with a complex secondary part.
