The use of Virtual Reality (VR) as a tool for teaching and training is not a revolutionary issue, the use of these technologies has been proposed for just over two decades. This in conjunction with some tools to support the production of applications in Virtual Reality has caused an increase in development and implementation. Making an application in VR benefits the student and teaching community because more students would have easy access to these devices through this means. This work in progress uses the application of a Virtual Reality system in an institution of higher education for the technical bachelor in industrial Mechatronics. Currently, the institution has an Intelligent Industry Laboratory to carry out practices related to industry 4.0. In this paper a laboratory practice design in a Virtual Reality environment is proposed, in which student can familiarize himself with equipment capabilities, as well as recognize main control cabinet internal configuration. For future projects of this application, a test will be proposed to evaluate the usefulness in student learning.
