摘要

In this paper, the authors has presented Antipodal Vivaldi Antenna for UWB applications. It can be extended for a purpose of the different medical applications: patient monitoring, surveillance and microwave imaging. The proposed antenna has been designed explicitly for frequencies ranging from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz as primitives for UWB where it has sensed operational frequencies ranges from 2 GHz to 15 GHz. Throughout the entire region, the proposed antenna provided a S_(11) < -10 dB and for this purpose FR-4 substrate is used for the design purpose. In order to meet additional performances and to increase its functionality to next level, EBG structures in the form of SSRR are used which are the constituent parts of the metamaterials.
